TS400 - PC/104 Compliant Quad RS-232/RS-485 Module

   Four 16550 RS232 serial ports
Up to 115.2k baud
Jumper set I/O address
Flexible IRQ settings
Kits for RS485 buffering
Single +5Vdc supply

The TS400 provides four PC compatible serial ports on a single PC/104 module. They are factory configured for RS-232 output levels and can be user configured for RS-485 operation. The TS400 is easy to use. It programs exactly as any other PC compatible serial card. TS400 allows you to use standard PC software for reliable and speedy development.

High Throughput
The UART devices on the TS400 are 16550 compatible. These devices include 16 byte receive and transmit FIFOs for fast and reliable data throughput. By utilising the on-chip FIFOs software can achieve high transmission rates without losing any characters.

Flexibility
Each port occupies a total of 8 jumper selectable I/0 addresses which can be jumper selected from a range. This allows several TS400s to be used in the same target stack. Both standard and non-standard I/O addresses are available.

Interrupts
Interrupts are flexible too! Just set a jumper area to determine which of the PC/104 interrupt request lines are to be driven from the TS400. Each port can be assigned its own IRQ line, or all four can share a single IRQ line.

RS-232 Signals
As standard the TS400 is set up to provide four ports with RS232 level buffering. Once again the TS400 is PC compatible as each RS232 port has a full complement of 8 signal and one ground connection. Data rates up to 115.2k baud are possible.

RS-485 Signals
Ports can be user configured for RS-485 level buffering with the addition of a TS400-485KIT. Each kit will enable two RS-485 ports. Two kits will buffer all the ports to RS-485 levels.

RS-485 ports buffer only the data lines. Each port can be either half duplex (one twisted pair) or full duplex (two twisted pairs). Data rates of up to 460k baud are possible. The TS400 has on-board components which can be used to terminate the twisted air transmission lines, holding it in a stable state between transmissions.
