Simply plug the PC/104 stack onto the TCDEV, connect a monitor and keyboard
and start working on the project. Once the system is completed, the TCDEV
can also be used to document the application as it is a powerfull PC able
to run word processors and publishing programs.
Standard PC Connectors
All of the TCDEV's I/O signals are brought to standard PC connectors, as
on a desktop PC. The processor module connects to the TCDEV through a flat
cable and it's I/O ports are available on D-Type connectors for Com1, Com2
and Lpt1, a 5 pin DIN socket for keyboard and a 6 pin mini-DIN for a mouse.
A 15 pin high density D-type socket for a VGA CRT screen is also fitted.
Flexible VGA Graphics
Sometimes PC/104 modules have their own graphics interface and sometimes
they don't. TCDEV suits both situations. It has it's own VGA circuit for
standard CRTs which can be jumper enabled or disabled. PC/104 stacks without
on-board graphics can be used with the TCDEV VGA port and stacks with graphics
can use either their own local graphics or the TCDEV VGA port.
Floppy and Hard Disks to Suit
TCDEV comes with a 3½ inch 1.44M byte floppy disk fitted and an IDE
port, both are jumper enabled/disabled. A 2½ inch hard disk can be
added for a full development platform capable of compiling and debugging
applications within the hardware environment.
ISA Slot
With one ISAbus slot, the TCDEV allows standard form-factor PC/AT cards
to be used with PC/104.
Compact Footprint
With a PCB area of just 217 x 165mm, the TCDEV occuplies little bench space. |
